STUDENT WITH DISABILITIES
STUDENT WITH DISABILITIES
Qualified disabled students shall not, on the basis of disability, be denied admission to, excluded from participation in, denied benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination in any program or activity at Navarro College.
Students with disabilities shall be reasonably accommodated pursuant to federal and state requirements in all applicable programs.
No student with disabilities is required to participate in services offered by Navarro College.
ACCESS
The Vice President of Student Success shall ensure that district classes, programs, services, activities, facilities, technology, media and communication systems are accessible to students with disabilities as required by federal and state law.
This policy applies to all credit and non-credit programs at off-campus and on-campus sites.
DUE PROCESS
The Vice President of Student Success shall assure that students have the opportunity to file grievance/complaints to resolve allegations of discrimination based on disability.
STANDARDS
District programs and services for students with disabilities shall promote the maximum independence and integration of students with disabilities; support participation of students with disabilities in educational activities consistent with the mission of Navarro College; and not duplicate services or instruction available to all students.
Students with disabilities shall meet the academic standards established by the College, comply with the student code of conduct, and adhere to written procedures for programs and services.
STUDENT RIGHTS
All disability and accommodation records maintained by Navarro College personnel pertaining to students with disabilities, shall be protected from disclosure and shall be subject to all other district requirements for handling of student records.
