Food and Drink Policy
Navarro College Libraries strives to provide an inviting and comfortable environment for study and research while protecting the library’s collections, equipment, and furnishings.
The Food and Drink Policy promotes responsible behavior by balancing user needs with the need to maintain a clean, quiet, and functional learning space.
General Policy

Permitted: Light, pre-packaged snacks that are not distracting or damaging to facilities.

Not permitted: Outside food delivery or meals (ie: pizza, sandwiches, salads, fast food).

Drinks allowed: Canned drinks and beverages in bottles that can be re-closed (screw top) or other spill resistant containers such as travel mugs and sports bottles are permitted.

Drinks not allowed: Beverages in styrofoam or paper cups (with or without lids).
RESTRICTED AREAS
Food and beverages of any kind are not permitted:

In Classroom #111 of the Richard M. Sanchez Library

At computer stations in any Navarro College Library facility.
Guidelines for Users
In order to protect our resources and facilities from damage, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

Please use sturdy, spill-proof containers for beverages.

Please limit your consumption of food to pre-packaged snacks such as granola bars, chips, nuts, pretzels, cookies, etc.

Foods such as pizza, burgers, fries, sandwiches, salads, fast food, etc. (meals) are not permitted.

Avoid snacks that disturb those around you (i.e. aromatic foods) or damage library materials.

Please dispose of any food and drink-related trash before you leave.

Please report any spills that may occur to library staff immediately.

Use of e-cigarettes is strictly prohibited.
Enforcement

Users violating this policy will be asked to remove the food and drink from the area.

Unattended food and drink openly displayed in public areas may be confiscated and discarded.

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it continues to protect library resources and maintain a welcoming environment. Adjustments will be made if necessary.
