Internet Use Policy
The Navarro College Library provides computer and internet access to support the library's mission of promoting research, study, and access success.
General Expectations

All use of library computers and online resources must be responsible, ethical, and consistent with the purposes outlined in the library's mission.

Library patrons must use online resources in ways that help maintain an environment conducive to study and academic pursuits.

Viewing material that may reasonably be considered offensive, inappropriate, or objectionable to others is not permitted.
Computer Use Guidelines

Time limits may be placed on computer use in order to provide access to as many users as possible.

Misuse or abuse of library computers or internet access may result in suspension of library privileges.

Library patrons are reminded that obscene display or distribution of materials is a criminal offense under the Texas Penal Code.

Sec. 43.22 Obscene Display or Distribution

(a) A person commits an offense if he intentionally or knowingly displays or distributes an obscene photograph, drawing, or similar visual representation or other obscene material and is reckless about whether a person is present who will be offended or alarmed by the display or distribution.

(b) An offense under this section is a Class C misdemeanor.
