CLEP Test


The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP®) helps you receive college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course.

About the CLEP ®Test and Subjects Offered

The CLEP® program offers you the opportunity to receive college credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on any of the 33 CLEP examinations. By earning a qualifying score, you can receive college credit for material you've already mastered through: 

  • Independent or prior study

  • On-the-job training

  • Cultural pursuits

Before registering, please check with your college or university for a current list of accepted CLEP subjects.

How to Register for the CLEP Test at Navarro College

To register:

  1. Visit the CLEP registration web page 

  2. Create a My Account profile, select your examination, and pay the $87 CLEP test fee.

  3. After registering, schedule an appointment in person or by phone at (903) 875-7457.

Retesting Policy

You may not repeat an exam of the same title within six months of the initial test date.

Credit Policy

You may not test a CLEP exam for a subject in which you have already received a passing grade.

CLEP Test Fee

$93.00

Pay directly to the testing company through the CLEP website using credit or debit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express).

Administration Fee

$25.00

Pay at the Navarro College Cashier's Office on the day of your test.

Total Cost

$115.00

Combined CLEP and administration fees.

 

After payment, you'll receive a registration ticket. Bring a printed or mobile copy of your test appointment.

Duration

90 minutes for all CLEP tests

Completion

All tests must be finished in one seating

Score Reports

Most scores are available immediately after testing. The College Composition exam is scored every 14 days.

Institution Credit Posting

Colleges and universities may take several weeks to process and award official CLEP credit.

 

What to Bring on Test Day

You must bring the following items:

  • Photo identification (ID): One valid , government-issued ID with photo and signature (Driver's license, state ID card, passport, or military ID)

    • Not accepted: Employee IDs, Social Security cards, credit/debit cards

  • CLEP registration ticket (printed or displayed on your smartphone.

  • Receipt for $25.00 administration fee

Testing Center provides: Pencils and scratch paper.

Not permitted: Study aids, personal scratch paper, or other materials.

Lockers are provided for storing personal items during the exam.
