Student Code of Expectations
Welcome to the John Deere TECH Program at Navarro College! As a student in this program, you’re preparing for a professional career, and the habits you build here will help you succeed in the workplace. To get the most out of your time in the program, you’ll need to follow these expectations:
Sponsorship
Keep an active sponsorship with a authorized John Deere dealership. This is an important part of your training and future career.
Academics and Conduct

Stay on top of your grades and attendance.

Follow Navarro College policies and the Student Code of Conduct.

Use the Navarro College Student Handbook as your guide for rules and requirements.
Professional Appearance and Safety

Wear your sponsorship provided uniform while on campus and during work experiences.

Always wear your safety gear (Personal Protective Equipment or PPE) in the shop and during lab activities.
Participation
Be on time and actively involved in all classes, labs, and program activities.
Curriculum
Complete all your coursework on campus and apply what you’ve learned during your dealership work experiences.
Tools

Freshman students will receive some starter tools.

You’ll need to purchase a multimeter and begin building your own toolbox.

By your sophomore year, you’re expected to bring your own tools to practicums and internships.
Conduct and Discipline

Treat this program like your job—conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.

Misconduct will lead to disciplinary action and could result in removal from the program.

Navarro College will notify your sponsoring dealership during the semesters concerning your progress, including academic grades in the John Deere TECH Program and any student conduct information that would result in disciplinary probation or higher penalty from the Office of Student Development.
