Admission to Fire Academy Requires:

• Acknowledgment of Academy policies

• Medical release

  • Section A: Medical Conditions

  • Section B: Job Tasks

  • Section C: National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Required Bunker Gear

Must be picked-up in the Protective Services Office, Navarro College-Waxahachie location

Procedures for Admission

STEP 1: APPLY TO NAVARRO COLLEGE

1. Complete the Navarro College application

2. Submit High School diploma or General Educational Developmental (GED) and all required Official transcriptions to the Registrar.

3. Schedule and complete Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment test (unless exempt).

 

STEP 2: FIRE ACADEMY REGISTRATION

1. Register for classes in the Fire/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department in Building D at the Navarro College-Waxahachie location.

2. Students are encouraged to contact the Fire/EMS Department as soon as possible for full registration requirements at (972) 923-6447 or email: fireacademy@navarrocollege.edu.
