John Cate, '19
We are shining a spotlight on John because he is graduating from high school & college at the same time.
“I was naturally always drawn to the field of Engineering and STEM courses. Frost ISD, my small rural school, did not offer calculus at the district level, but Navarro College did. Fortunately, this relationship sparked my interest in pursuing an Associate Degree through NC during my high school years. I appreciate the journey and opportunities that Navarro College has provided, as this experience, with these professors, it has opened a world of discovery and future plans that are limitless. I cannot wait to discover what comes next in my journey and look forward to the incredible path that takes me there. Thank you Navarro College.”
Background: Frost High School-2019 Graduate
Future plans: Accepted into several top university engineering programs, including his top choice, Texas A&M’s Honors Engineering Program. He eventually wants to receive an advanced degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering. After gaining professional certification as an Engineer, he plans to design and construct building systems that will concurrently benefit society and the environment using resource management and design practices that will challenge and change the future of design.
