Graduates: Frequently Asked Questions 


Graduation Application Deadline

Yes. Students should submit an online application for graduation by the term. Deadlines are listed on the How to Apply for Graduation page. 

 

Cap and Gown Information

Cost: Free for all current graduates participating in the commencement ceremony.

Where to Pick Up: Available at any Navarro College Bookstore location.

 

Receiving Your Diploma

Please allow 3-6 weeks for processing. Diplomas will be mailed to the address listed on your graduation application.

 

Commencement Attire

Graduates must wear their cap adn gown.

  • Dress in business casual attire.

  • Approved stoles are available for purchase at the Bookstore. 

  • Choose comfortable, stable footwear. Graduates will walk from Louis Gibson Hall to the Wolens Special Events Center (SEC) across different surfaces.

  • High heels are not recommended.

Congratulations, graduates - you've earned it! It's time to celebrate your achievements and walk across the stage. 

Here's what to expect on your commencement day.

 

Graduation Day Details


Graduation Lineup

Graduates will line up at the Louis Gibson Hall, Corsicana location (see building #38 on map) and proceed in a procession to the Wolens Special Events Center (Building #33) for the ceremony. 

  • Navarro College staff will assist in lining up and finding your assigned seat. 

  • Wear comfortable, supportive shoes.

Parking Information

Expect heavy traffice and limited parking. To ensure a smoother experience:

  • Carpool whenever possible. 

  • Arrive early to allow time for check-in and walking to the venue.

  • No reserved parking - spaces are first-come, first-served. 

  • Review the parking plans and available lots before arrival.  

  • Please be patient - large crowds are expected.

 

Venue: Wolen's Special Events Center (SEC)


  • Doors located on the West side of the SEC will open one (1) hour prior to the ceremony.

  • No balloons allowed inside the venue.

  • No seat reservations. Seating is first-come, first-served.

  • Once capacity is reached, guests will be directed to Leighton B. Dawson Auditorium (Building #28) to view a livestream of the ceremony.

Check-in Instructions

Graduates must arrive at the Louis Gibson Hall, Corsicana location in one hour prior to your scheduled commencement time.

Look for the signs and be aware parking will fill quickly, so consider carpooling.

 


Check-In Process: Three Stops

 

1. FIRST STOP - Arrive at the Check-In Station

Have your cehck-in ticket ready when you arrive at Louis Gibson Hall (Building #38 ). You will receive two cards:

  1. NAME CARD - to be left with the photographer.

  2. STAGE CARD - VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO LOSE! This card will be handed to the announcer when preparing to walk across the stage.- This card will be used by the announcer and have the graduate's printed name, degree, and honors (if any)- The Academic Program listed on this card will coordinate with the line-up group.

 

2. SECOND STOP - Photography

Professional photographers will be available to capture your graduation photo.

  1. Bring your completed order form and Photo Name Card.

  2. Photos will be available for purchase.

3. THIRD STOP - GROUP LINE-UP 

Look for volunteers who will help you find your academic program line.

  • Your STAGE CARD lists your program and lineup group. 

  • Join your group as directed and wait for the procession to begin.
