Career and Technical Education (CTE) Success Center


CTE Success Center

We invite you to learn more about the services and resources we offer. We assist in exploring careers, choosing a career or major, and learning job-seeking and other employability skills for the workforce. Students from all Business, Professional, and Technical Education majors are encouraged to work with the career enter staff as early as their first year. The services provided by the CTE Success Center are free of charge, and are available to students during their time at Navarro College. Please explore the services detailed below, stop by our office, or contact us with any questions.

Student Advising


The CTE Success Center provides career and college coursework advising for:

  • Students who are CTE students

  • Undeclared majors

  • Students that may want additional guidance in their specific career field.

If you need help with educational and career planning, contact the Career Center for more information.

 

Career Development


The CTE Success Center offers career resources to help students succeed in today's workforce.

Services include:

  • Resume writing assistance

  • Interview practice and preparation 

  • Online job postings and resume database access.

  • Online tools to support career development of all students in the Career and Technical Education division.

Students and employers interested in participating with the online job board should contact us at (903) 875-7571.

 

Support Services

We provide assistance to eligible CTE majors for transportation, childcare, and textbooks. 

To qualify, students must:

  • Be enrolled as a CTE major

  • Be Pell Grant eligible

  • Meet a minimum 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)

  • Be full-time students

  • Apply early (funding is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis

A new application must be submitted each semester. 

Award Notification: Students will be notified via student email if their application has been approved.

 

 SPRING 2026 ASSISTANCE 

Application Period: December 5, 2025 - January 5, 2026

 

Textbook Assistance

Textbook assistance is provided as a one-time stipend to support students with the cost of required course materials. The stipend is available each semester and must be applied for on a semester-by-semester basis. Students are responsible for purchasing any access codes, kits, bundles, or textbooks not listed on the official course schedule for the semester in which they are requesting assistance.

Transportation Assistance

Transportation assistance is available for assist students enrolled in courses that involve travel beyond Navarro College, such as internships, clinical placements, or practicums. Eligible students may be considered for a travel stipend, which will be disbursed through their student account upon selection.

Childcare Assistance

The selected student will receive a stipend to assist with childcare expenses, which will be disbursed through their student account. Prior to receiving the funds, the student must complete and sign a declaration confirming that the stipend will be used exclusively for childcare-related purposes.

Online Tutoring Services

The CTE Success Center provides tutoring services to CTE majors at Navarro College locations in areas such as:

  • Accounting

  • Business Information Technology

  • General computer skills
