Devin Lennon-Davey, Class of 2008
Devin Lennon-Davey is Waxahachie High School and Navarro College alumna. In 2008, she graduated from Navarro College with an associate of arts degree, where she turned knowledge into experience by dedicating hundreds of hours to NC theatre, music, and drama productions under the caring wing of Dr. Shellie O’Neal. Devin has held true to her creative spirit and tenacious dedication to bringing the arts to life, as she now lives and works in Los Angeles, California as a Set Decoration Coordinator, Buyer and Set Dresser, with a primary focus in television. “I am extremely proud of my professional accomplishments to date and it’s hard to pick just one [accomplishment], but I think what I am most proud of is that I didn’t give up,” Devin reflects.
Devin recalls Dr. O’Neal’s pivotal influence on her life as a life-long learner and creative: “Dr. O’Neal’s incredible ability to teach and foster confidence in her students is what helped me find my footing… she trusted me to find the creative solutions to bring her shows to life.” After graduating high school, Devin’s priorities involved fulfilling her degree requirements on time without sacrificing her dreams of achieving an immersive, hands-on arts degree. “The financial benefits of attending community college were on the forefront of my mind when I decided to go this path prior to attending university. I believe that my choice to attend Navarro College is a major contributor to being able to pay off my student loans in this lifetime,” she says. After attending Navarro, Devin began her Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in Technical Theatre from the University of North Texas. While Devin retained her education goals in focus, she never compromised her artistic nature, stating “by being flexible and curious, I opened myself up to new opportunities and facets of the industry and that versatility benefits me currently and will continue to do so in future endeavors.”
Devin’s portfolio and experience grows by the day. She has been privileged to work on widely streamed television commercials and series as well as popular attractions. In 2024, Devin won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series for the show “Hacks” featured by HBO and Max, and produced by Nate Young. Devin’s most memorable projects include working with theatres, theme parks, and television. Her favorite jobs have been with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Dallas Theater Center, The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, (Universal Studios Hollywood) - The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Super Nintendo World, Jurassic World, The Secret Life of Pets, The Morning Show, American Ninja Warrior, Amsterdam, and Hocus Pocus 2. Devin enjoys hiking, live music, crafting, and traveling in her free time, with hopes to work on an international production set.
