Barbara Kelley
Barbara Kelley attended Navarro College and majored in the Radio/Television program with hopes of one day becoming the next “Iola Johnson” (news anchor for the Dallas television station - WFAA), but instead was drawn to Criminal Justice.
Barbara became a Reserve Police Officer and was hired full-time as a Police Telecommunicator with the Corsicana Police Department. She has been in the public safety field for over 30 years and truly believes that Navarro College allowed her to gain law enforcement knowledge through the Criminal Justice Program.
Barbara didn't give up her dream of hosting a radio show. "Even though I went into the Criminal Justice field, I still have been able to utilize my Radio/Television skills by starting my own podcast, CANA Girl Speaks Podcast”.
Barbara returned to college and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Science (B.A.A.S) degree from Texas A&M Commerce in May of 2006. She's currently a Lead Telecommunicator for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department.
"I have appreciated all the instructors and the Navarro Executive leadership when I attended Navarro College. They all cared about their students. I feel blessed to be an Alumni of Navarro College, Class of 1991."
