Navarro College Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Kevin Fegan as the College’s 8th District President. Dr. Fegan is currently the Vice President Executive Education/Corporate Programming and Texas Officer at Northwood University in Midland, MI and Cedar Hill, TX. He has been with Northwood University for 32 years.
Dr. Fegan says that working with students in their pursuit of personal and professional goals, and being an advocate for them is what he enjoys most about being an educator. All three of his children have attended Navarro College and their combined experiences include dual credit, certificate, two-year degree and transfer pathways.
“As a leader, my strength is my ability as a coach and teacher to motivate and inspire others to work toward a common goal. Years of athletic coaching and teaching developed the ability and skill set to connect with individuals, form relationships, and work toward maximizing one’s potential within a team environment. My career has been highlighted by my ability to be an effective leader that clearly articulates a vision, provides context for that vision, and models the desired behavior needed to achieve that vision. I know that my experience will complement the trustees, faculty, and staff of Navarro who understand and effectively manage the nuances within a community college environment,” said Dr. Fegan
Dr. Fegan’s appointment is the culmination of a national search, aided by the sixteen member search committee of a cross-section of the college and college community. Mr. Lloyd Huffman, Chairman of the Navarro College Board of Trustees said, “On behalf of the Board of Trustees I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the members of the Presidential Search Committee for their dedication and diligence on a job well done. The Board is confident that Dr. Kevin Fegan will provide the leadership that will continue our role as a leader in public higher education. We look forward to welcoming Dr. Fegan to our campus on July 2.”
