Navarro College Foundation Presents the 2024 Dancing for Our Stars Dance Couples
Posted on December 05, 2023
The Navarro College Foundation is thrilled to reveal the dynamic lineup for the ninth
annual Dancing For Our Stars event. The six local celebrity dance couples are: David and Avery-Dechaume Rivera, Andrew
& Christina Cerda, Aaron & Amy Tidwell, Conor McGuire & Michelle Moe, Johnny & Shonda
Yglecias, and Dante & Jamie Johnson.
The sold-out event themed “Cruising with the Stars,” will be held on Saturday, February
10, 2024 at the Cook Education Center. “While the event is sold-out, everyone in the
community can watch the live show and show their support for the dancers through our
live feed of the event starting at 8:00 p.m.,” said Richey Cutrer, Navarro College
Foundation Executive Director. “Actually, the website is already up, so anyone and
everyone in the community can start showing support by casting your $5.00 vote(s)
for your favorite dance team at DFOS.NavarroCollege.edu. Having a watch party is a
great alternative to cheering on your favorite team.”
“In an exciting addition this year, a cruise giveaway has been introduced. Anyone
may purchase a single ticket for $25 or 5 tickets for $100 for a chance to win a spectacular
$4,000 cruise. Tickets are limited and may be purchased online at https://navarrocf.ejoinme.org/dfoscruise2024, until February 2, 2024. The lucky winner will be drawn live during the DFOS event,
and attendance is not required to claim the prize,” said Cutrer.
Dancing for Our Stars remains one of Corsicana’s premier social events and a crucial
fundraiser for Navarro College. Funds raised from this spectacular event support
students and faculty on the Corsicana Campus. Last year the Foundation raised an impressive
$380,000 district-wide, benefitting student scholarships and Faculty Innovation Awards.
The Foundation expresses immense gratitude for the unwavering support received from
the community for this significant fundraising initiative.
The couples are receiving dance lessons at Corsicana’s “Shall We Dance” studio, with
instruction from Diana Castillo and Adelaide Castillo. The Foundation and DFOS committee
extend its sincere appreciation to both the dancers and instructors for their dedication
to making this event a resounding success.
