Posted on March 25, 2025
Navarro College’s head Soccer Coach, Alicia Wilson, has been named as Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Alabama State University. Wilson, a William Carrey University graduate, served as Navarro College’s head soccer coach for the last 10 years. She previously coached five seasons at the University of West Florida before joining Navarro College. She also coached the Jamaica Women’s Senior National Team in the 2020 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
“We are excited for Alicia and the next step in her coaching career. She deserves this new opportunity because of the success she has earned leading the Navarro soccer program. Alicia will be difficult to replace as her invaluable contributions have left a lasting mark” Executive Director of Student Services and Athletics Michael Landers said.
During her tenure, she led her teams to remarkable success, including a NJCAA #1 national ranking and guiding Navarro College to the 2024 Region XIV regular season championship. Her leadership also played a key role in Navarro’s 2019 Region XIV regular season championship, during a run of five consecutive NJCAA national tournament appearances. With an impressive 130-39-14 record at Navarro, she developed elite-level talent, producing a number of region most valuable players and NJCAA All-Americans.
The Bulldogs wish Coach Wilson and her family the best in her new role and will begin a nationwide search for a successor.
