Meet Dr. Sarah Austin, PT, DPT, PTA Program Director

" I have been with NC for 10 years! My favorite parts of Navarro College are the people I work with. I absolutely am blessed to work with some of the most knowledgable, yet down-to-earth, people. Everyone from Dean Featherston and Dean Underwood to Patti Binger to working with my PTA team and best friends, to working with Dr Krajca and her team who are now some of my core people.

 

I was working with a COTA (Occupational Therapist Assistant), and she told me I should apply to Navarro College as their program director. I actually told her that she was crazy. However, just a month before this conversation, I had prayed that God would open a door so I could teach and do physical therapy. I applied for the job When I realized this was the answer to that prayer.

 

The Midlothian campus has been so good to us, PTA, over the years and honestly, I love working here and with this group of people. My favorite memories are also some of the hardest memories of staying here until midnight to complete all the accreditation work.

 

Also, the life in this campus returns when the students come back and I look forward to seeing them and getting to know each of them, and not just my PTA students. I love to see students who might be nervous or excited walking in the doors."

 

She finds that most students aren't very familiar with Physical Therapy Assistant or Occupational Therapy Assistant programs! Most students love their career and are able to make a great salary!
