The Associate in Arts (AA), and Associate in Science (AS) degrees are intended for students planning to transfer to a senior college or university for a baccalaureate degree. Since the requirements for these degrees can vary from one four-year institution to another, it is recommended that all students create an educational plan with a Navarro College counselor or adviser. Courses taken at other colleges and/or universities are evaluated upon request. The courses students take at Navarro College are those normally taken during the first two years of the baccalaureate degree. Information about various college and university catalogs is available in the Counseling Center. By working with Navarro College counselors and advisers on an individual degree plan, students will complete the appropriate requirements and be in a favorable position to transfer to the senior college or university of their choice. Most universities and senior colleges award junior standing to students with an Associate in Arts or Associates in Science degree.
